Ginisang Upo


Ginisang Upo with Pork and Bagoong is easy to make yet big on flavor. This vegetable side dish made with pork belly strips is also nutritious, tasty, and budget-friendly! It’s delicious on its own or with steamed rice. But if you’d rather enjoy upo with steamed rice, I’m all for it! This upo guisado is not only a nutritious and delicious vegetable dish, but it’s also easy to make and budget-friendly, too.

Ingredients


  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 onion, peeled and sliced thinly
  • cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1/4 pound pork belly, cut into thin strips
  • 1 Tomatoes, chopped
  • cup water
  • medium upo, peeled and cut into strips (about 4 cups)
  • salt and pepper to taste
