Ginisang Gulay with Alamang


 

Ginisang Gulay with Alamang  
is a simple and a favorite filipino recipe we love Ampalaya and a hint of Alamang makes it so tasty. Yummy! I also included an Instruction on how to prepare bitterless Ampalaya indicated at the bottom of recipe.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup fresh Alamang
  • Pork
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • Okra 
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium ampalaya, seeded and eggplant sliced
  • Patis, to taste
  • cooking oil

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Using low heat, heat oil in a medium pan. Sauté garlic, onion until wilted, pork and add tomatoes.
  2. Smash the tomatoes to release the juices, then add in the alamang. Let it cook for a few minutes until slightly toasted and brown.
  3. Add in the ampalaya, okra and eggplant into the pan and toss it together with the Alamang.
  4. Simmer over low heat until Ampalaya is completely cooked. Add Patis and pepper to taste. Serve and enjoy!
